Crowns and Bridges
At Edison Park Smiles, it is our goal to provide all our patients with dental restorations that look and feel natural and are almost undetectable to others, so that you can smile a natural-looking smile. We offer high-quality dental crowns and bridges that can be used to repair and replace damaged and missing teeth.
Crowns and bridges are an extremely reliable solution for oral care problems caused due to trauma, wear and tear, and disease. A lot of people suffer from pain caused by hairline cracks in the chewing part of their teeth. The placement of crowns can relieve the pain and restore the full function of these teeth. For teeth that have very large fillings, teeth that have undergone root canal therapy, or teeth that have broken due to excessive wear, crowns and/or bridges are an effective long-term form of treatment.
A dental crown is a tooth-shaped cap that can be used to cover a missing or damaged tooth in the mouth. The fitting of a dental crown requires at least two visits to our dental office. In the initial visit, we will remove any decay, prepare the tooth and fit it with a temporary restoration while the permanent one is prepared in a dental lab according to the impressions of your teeth. During the second visit, the temporary crown is removed and the permanent one is bonded.
Key Benefits Of Dental Crowns
- They are an effective replacement for missing teeth
- Look like your natural teeth
- They provide support to badly broken or misshapen teeth
- Fix aesthetic and functional problems of your smile
A bridge is a dental device used to replace missing teeth. A bridge is attached to the natural teeth at both ends of the place where it is placed in the mouth. Bridges can be removable or fixed.
Fixed bridges are applied by either placing crowns on the abutment teeth or by bonding the artificial teeth directly to the abutment teeth. Removable bridges are attached to the teeth with metal clasps or by precision attachments. Apart from offering replacement for missing teeth, a bridge also provides support to the cheeks and lips, giving proper shape to your face and preventing sagging. It also minimizes the risk of gum disease caused due to missing teeth.
